As business customers demand more user friendly online shopping experiences from vendors, B2B eCommerce solutions will see rapid adoption.

Business to business eCommerce sales will hit the $1-trillion-mark by 2020, accounting for 12 percent of all B2B sales, according to a recent Forrester forecast.  Businesses who have yet to implement integrated B2B eCommerce solutions for their websites will need to act quickly to stay competitive.

“B2B buyers are now expecting B2C-like customer experiences online, and they're growing increasingly impatient with B2B sellers that don't provide it,” said the Forrester forecast. “B2B firms must build their digital savvy and fast — or else risk losing market share to the online competition.”

When researching purchases for work, 74 percent of B2B buyers turn to the internet at least half of the time before making a purchase.  It is easy to see the selling advantage of having a B2B eCommerce solution integrated with your website, making it easy for these business shopperrs to simply click to purchase.

It is also easy to see how those who fail to implement a sophisticated eCommerce solution will lose opportunities to competitors who do have one.  What’s more, eCommerce allows businesses to connect on self-service shoppers while saving payroll for sales employees.

With an enterprise resource planning solution in the cloud combined with the power of integrated B2B eCommerce, even small businesses can position themselves to expand into global markets and sustain rapid growth.
