Question: Mike, we own Sage 100 ERP (formerly Sage MAS90), we are downsizing and moving our current Sage 100 ERP from a server to a new computer. How do we do this?
Answer: This is a simple process but there are a few considerations and steps to follow.
First step:
Copy (do not move) the entire ..\Mas90\ directory to the new location. This method will also allow you to continue to do work in the old location during the transition. In the new location, find the Uninstall Information folder under the \Mas90\ directory and rename it.
Second step:
Find your installation disk as well as your registration keys, do a new installation of all the Modules over the top of the moved \Mas90\ directory.
After the installation is done share the folder above the \Mas90\ directory i.e. share Sage Software which contains the Mas90 folder.
You will also want to give the shared folder full permissions, otherwise you might get an Activation error when trying to run.
Third step:
Create new drive mappings on workstations to the new location, and then reinstall all workstations and point to the new location. As was stated in step one, if you have been using the old location during this transition, rename the MAS_XXX folder where XXX is the Company code in the new location, and copy the MAS_XXX folder from the old location.
Fourth step:
Test and verify that everything is working OK in the new installation.
